Rosy Head’s series of photographs are of a landscape photographed at night. From a distance the installation mimics the plant plaques in the garden, but when looked at more closely the landscape images emerge, initially almost black. The photographs are enhanced to reveal the expanded exchange of energy and information between camera and plant, an attunement to other markers and carriers of communication far beyond the human eye. A loss of resolution is replaced by a more painterly characterisation, an uneasy shift between materiality and abstraction.
