Path of Conjunction
Referencing the idea of the sun’s path of travel across the Earth from which its recent total eclipse could be witnessed, Path of Conjunction considers what happens when different bodies, places and perspectives come briefly into alignment. An eclipse transforms a familiar landscape without physically altering it: light changes, perception shifts, and an ordinary place is momentarily experienced otherwise. The garden operates here in a similar way, not simply as a backdrop for artworks, but as a temporary field of encounter in which different practices, histories, experiences and ways of seeing coincide.
Taking the garden as both a physical site and a point of departure, the exhibition considers landscape as something continually shaped by movement, making and experiencing space at different scales, ecology, climate and our relationships with one another. The exhibition is both a new constellation and a return. It marks a particular moment in the life of the project: a gathering of past and present, and perhaps a moment of transition.
