Ambiguous objects communicate the idea of use and consumerism, material approaches draw attention to changing processes of mass production and digital media via what are often laborious, hand-made or DIY means. Spatial encounters allow the identity of these ‘part-objects’ to be in the world: surface and form become unhinged and meanings are destabilised.

The process of making is important, the line is like a close reading of the surface material that insists on a physical engagement with the form. The line slows and deviates at each obstacle, causing mistakes which fold back into the work.
