From press release:
The Nard, or Narde, is a game for two players originating from Persia 4000 years ago. It is similar to backgammon, and there are variations across the globe which may have different names and slightly different rules. When one wanders around Uzbekistan one often sees men playing on the streets of the neighbourhoods. Traditionally women do not play this game. The first moves open the game, the following ones try to close the opponent just like the traveller wandering around the city, open to any possibility and then registering the unexpected moments. Like in the game the traveller is opened to the chance of the dice, to the accidental intersections between space and time that become memories of roaming.
